We’ve had an excellent record betting on the football in the past three seasons, and this year, our weekly bets will be on display for you every week – absolutely free!

Why start Betting Mate? 

Because for years we bet on the football just like, thousands of others, with our bets based on what the experts said, who they tipped and who was in form.  Sometimes we got it right, most of the time we got it wrong. 

Last year we took an opening bank of $650 and turned that into $1,424. That's a return of 119% from a total of 25 bets for the season.

We had 16 winning bets and 9 losing over the course of the year. No bet was bigger than $125 and we will not bet every round. If we don't see something we like, or good value, then we're happy to sit out the round.

We look at a lot of stats, but we start by seeing if a team’s had a good record against another in the past 3 – 4 years.

Secondly, what is their record like at the venue, in the last couple of years, as well as how have they gone during the day or night?

Thirdly – don’t get sucked in by teams in good form against teams playing poorly.  Those bets are fraught with danger – and that’s where the opportunity to make money comes. 

Finally, don’t always bet for a win or loss.  A rubbish umpiring decision, or a poor kick for goal can snap defeat from the jaws of victory. 

We look at all different types of bets during the week, but line betting is something that you can take advantage of, and make you some good cash if you’re not 100% sure of who’s going to win.

You can choose to follow or not – it’s your choice.  But to help you make a decision as to whether we know what we’re talking about – we’ll keep a record of our bets for the season.  And you can judge for yourself whether we’re worthwhile following.
